It actually happens quite often. You're hungry and there's the company vending
machine enticing you to buy some junk food. You plop in your money, press a
few buttons for your selection, the rollers move...
You eagerly anticipate your food to drop into the exit chute...
... and it gets stuck.
November 4, 2011 - I usually don't really care too much when I see vending
machines get stuck but it was curious when there were TWO items stuck on this
spiral machine. I forgot when I saw when someone wanted to get popcorn but this
second person must have come up and thought "Jackpot! 2 for the price of 1!"...
and to their dismay the machine decided to eat the money instead.

November 10, 2011 - I came back to take a look... Apparently someone tried to
take their chances and get a three-for-one. Who could resist? THREE bags of
popcorn for the insane price of $1!
However the machine had other plans. Sorry, the spiral pusher did push the
two previously purchased and stuck bags of popcorn out of the mechanism,
but their escape was short lived - they got jammed on the exit
chute. To make matters worse, the newly purchased popcorn got stuck too.
Vending machine: 3, hungry persons: 0
November 10, 2011 take 2 - I came back to the vending machine again and noticed
someone buying Cheetos on top of the two jammed bags of popcorn. And it got
stuck too. Why buy that bag of Cheetos, they should have bought the
one at the top and hope the additional momentum of the higher, falling bag
would knock the popcorn out, at least bounce the Cheetos out too instead of
getting it stuck too. Even better, buying the more dense, aerodynamic
Twizzlers that would fly downwards without hitting terminal velocity
would increase the chances of getting something.

November 11, 2011 - Looks like someone was hungry for popcorn again and the
vending machine says... "DENIED!" Why not just get the unencumbered bag
of Doritos? Or at least choose something that's not on top of the now
blocked exit chute?

November 14, 2011 - Weekend passed. Looks like vending machine refills don't occur over the weekend.
But it looks like someone fished out two free bags of food! Can't seem to
discern any purchases...

November 15, 2011 - Ahh... not sure what happened here. There are hints that the machine was refilled
as I thought on Monday there was only one bag of Doritos left but now there
seems to be more than one... However the creases on the bag looks like it has
not been touched. The popcorn still still hanging there, though at a
different angle...
Not sure where to award points to,
if the vending machine refill guy gets the popcorn, the vending machine should
be awarded points as he's working for the vending machine. But perhaps someone
got the stuck bag of popcorn... For now I'll give hungry people a point for
grabbing the bag of popcorn stuck at the bottom, but really not sure without
watching the replay...
